This article first appeared here on 14th April 2013.

Bethesda PR executive Pete Hines kyrim DLC tweet sparks a debate in Skyrim community.

No More Skyrim, It’s The Elder Scrolls VI

The more they don’t say “we’re done” the clearer it becomes that they are not done.

The closest thing we have to a no is when Pete in February said “people have been working on Skyrim for 4 years now so you get to the point where you kind of wanna work on the next thing.” (to paraphrase).

He then followed a comment about any more DLC with “we won’t talk about that”.

So here we are in April, still getting “we’ll announce something when we’re ready to announce something” which basically means there is something because there is no reason to not say they are done if they are.

We also doubt there will be another DLC for Skyrim simply due to the fact that The Witcher 3, the first truly open-world Witcher game, is coming out in 2014 and is going to be a direct competitor for the Elder Scrolls players.

We imagine that every resource Bethesda has is being dedicated to push out the next game to compete with that before they steal too many players away.

Supposedly the game is completely open world and literally dwarfs the size of Skyrim.

Bethesda should be focusing on making the new game for the next-gen consoles such as on PlayStation 4 and Xbox 720 instead of creating more DLC for Skyrim.

Hopefully, we are going to see another patch with maybe a couple of little surprises but nothing like a major expansion.
